Portfolio
Hi, I'm Rebecca Martin – a passionate Design student with a strong focus on hands-on making, creative problem-solving, and user-centered design. Welcome to my portfolio, where I showcase a range of my work that blends innovative design thinking with practical craftsmanship.
Throughout my studies at Ulster University, I’ve had the opportunity to explore various design processes and materials, from digital fabrication to manual craftsmanship. As a designer-maker, I enjoy working with my hands. Whether it's woodworking, silversmithing & metal-working, ceramics, or experimenting with new materials, my work is grounded in a belief that good design is about both form and function.
I approach design with the belief that every object should serve a purpose, and that purpose should be grounded in understanding real-world needs. My process revolves around user empathy, sustainability, and material exploration. Whether designing everyday products or bespoke pieces, I focus on creating designs that are durable, thoughtful, and intuitive.
In addition to the technical skills I’ve gained through my studies, I’m always exploring new ways to push the boundaries of design, combining traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology. I aim to create designs that are innovative, practical, and that enhance the user experience.
I’m always looking for new opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow. Whether it’s an internship, freelance project, or a full-time position, I’m excited about working with others who share my passion for design and craftsmanship.
Feel free to explore my portfolio, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to discuss potential projects or collaborations.
